I created a workspace on Slack to allow anyone who wants to collaborate with my projects, be updated or simply read more or less interesting things. So anyone who wants can log in and see what happens 🙂
In recent months I had asked why my account was suspended. After a few months I received this answer. There is no possibility of dialogue and not even a decent explanation. They talk to me generically about a violation of the rules.
Now we need to understand whether this response is the result of poorly made artificial intelligence or of a biological moron 😀 😀 😀
I think it’s been about 30 years since I’ve installed a game on my computer. The last one I think was Gunship 2000 or something! Today, however, I installed this simulator for model aircraft.
From the videos and comments it seemed like a well-made product and so I decided to buy it to learn how to drive model aircraft and to be able to do something useful during some online meetings.
I had read about some problems with Intel graphics cards but being an optimist I decided I would fix it. Indeed it was, I had to work on it a bit but in the end everything works 🙂
After installing it using Steam (which I didn’t know about but it seems to me a fantastic object) the game started without problems, only that instead of letting me do anything it presented me with a model aircraft stopped on the runway. Searching on the Internet on the various forums there was talk of switching to the use of the beta version “dxvk-intel.fix” which could have solved the problem.
To use the beta version, simply enter the game properties, select the “Betas” item, select the “dxvk-intel-fix” beta, close the window with the “x” and restart the game.
When I restarted the game I got an error message telling me that the graphics card was not working properly. To solve this problem I downloaded these drivers and after the installation I restarted my computer as requested and after the reboot everything started working fine 🙂
Talking about “good” referring to a pandemic may be out of place but I am firmly convinced that there is good in everything.
I think the good thing about this pandemic lies in the demonstration that we are insignificant to the universe.
We are fragile beings whose existence hangs by a thread; faced with serious problems there are no weapons, supremacies or gods to help us. We have to help ourselves.
We must improve and be more efficient, more educated and progressive. Only progress can save us.
In these days I’m driving an Infiniti Q30, I find it very pretty and even if it has the wrong wheel drive, it can be fun too 🙂
One of the things I like best about this machine is electronic stuff. One of the driving aids I noticed is the autonomous reading of the road signs. I found the thing interesting also because I immediately looked at it from the standpoint of autonomous driving. Right about this context yesterday I noticed something that I did not like. Passing behind a tourist bus I noticed that the car read as a speed limit, as reported by the heavy vehicle that preceded me in a sticker that reported its maximum speed on the highway. In the picture you can see little because I was driving and I took it at a run. However, you can guess what happens: the car signals me as a speed limit of 80 km / h (instead of the 50 real ones) because the coach in front has a sticker that indicates its maximum speed on the highway in 80 km / h.
I noticed this behavior on several occasions between yesterday and today.
Today this is not a big problem, I guide and I know the limits and I know what directions to follow. But if she were driving, wouldn’t it be too easy to deceive her? And in the case of autonomous driving, any fines, who should pay them? Who was in the car? No, he wasn’t driving! The owner? No, he didn’t even drive! The manufacturer of the vehicle? Who hadn’t passed a patch in time?
I leave you with these doubts and with the invitation to use the right pedal until we can do it 🙂
After so long it seems that I have found the time to open this blog!
I’m not sure what to do with it, at best I will use it to share thoughts and images.
For those who do not know me, let me introduce myself: my name is Emiliano Carlesi and I live in Rome. I work in computer science (one of my greatest passions, it is not “just” work), I have a 13 year old son and a fantastic partner. I also have two dogs (Olivia and Ambra).
In addition to information technology, my hobbies are mountain biking, archery and off road RC cars. For those interested, here are some more info about me:
